B65-509 SET OF TWO COACHMAKER'S RABBET PLANES. Geral. Both made of cast brass, with ebony squirrel tail handles and integral front knobs with ebony fill. One has an tapered and compassed sole, 4-1/4" long, with 1-3/8" cutter, small dent in the mount. The other has a 5-5/8" flat sole and 1-7/16" cutter. Both have "Geral" cast into the body, the first also has "No. 3." The same user initials, so part of a set. Both cutters down to their last 1/4". Geral was apparently a maker of coachmaker's tools and planes by them show up regularly, but we don't know any more about them. From the collection of Steve DIce. Good+ 120-240
