B65-494 SMOOTHING PLANE. Steers No. 304. The rare 9" version of William Steer's patented bench planes with rosewood inserts in the sole to reduce friction, as manufactured by Brattleboro Tool Co. Proper marked cutter, and the set screw in the cap iron, often missing, is present. Rosewood strips have wear at toe but in decent shape. Tote has some tiny chips at the end but overall very clean, as is the knob, metal has some surface oxidation but no rust or pitting. Good+ 300-600
