B65-146 BACKSAW. Henry Disston Double Eagle. Back is stamped with Henry Disston (no "Sons") flanked by two eagles which was used only through 1855. The handle has the triple cove design typically found on the No. 8 half-back and a partial lamb's-tongue. Split nuts, optimistic eagle medallion, 14" blade with light oxidation but no pitting. Head has overall wear and the head of one of the nuts is proud of the surface. An uncommon saw and possibly a special order. From the collection of David Jeffers. Good 200-400
