B61-191 BLOCK PLANE. Metallic Plane Co. No. 9. Adjustable throat with iron front knob, 7-3/4" long with fruitwood grip screwed to 2" cutter marked "Excelsior", rack and pinion cutter adjustment. "Metallic Plane Co. Auburn NY" and "Patented" stamped on sole. Japanning about 50%. Very unusual to find one of these with the grip still attached to the cutter. From the collection of Cliff Sapienza. Good+ 400-800
