B-677. COMBINATION BRACE WRENCH. Johnston Patent. Samuel Johnston of Leesburg, VA, received two patents for this combination tool, both were manufactured by Peter Lowentraut of Newark, NJ. This is the earlier, rarer version marked only with the original 1894 patent and is one of the nicer ones we've seen, good rosewood handle and grip, nickel is 99% and nice and shiny. Marked "Territories for Sale by S. J. Johnston, Leesburg, VA" which we've typically seen only on the later versions. One of those essential gizmos that belongs in every collection and this is as nice an example as you're likely to find.
