B-329 INFILL SHOULDER PLANE. J. Popping. Cast iron shoulder plane by Joseph Popping, one of the rare US makers of infills, who were clustered in New York in the late 1800s. The cutter, rather than the body, is marked, which was typical, but the design is consistent with other Popping planes and identical to PTAMPIA II Figure 301a. 6-5/8" sole, 1" cutter, rosewood infill. One chip from wedge and some small chips from rear of throat, otherwise very good overall condition.Good+ 400-600 NOTE: Absentee bidding ends 5:00pm EST on Friday, March 29, 2019.
