B65-598 INFILL SMOOTHING PLANE. Tyzack. Cast steel body, 7-1/2" straight-side sole, unhandled, rosewood fill, 2-1/4" James Howarth double iron. Gunmetal lever cap marked "Tyzack Railway Arch 345 Old Street." This would be Samuel Tyzack who was at that location around 1900. The mark is overstamped and little blurry but legible. Wood has typical minor dings and scratches but no damage, a little corrosion on the cheeks. An attractive infill by a less common maker. From a legendary collection of infill planes. Good+ 150-300
