B65-585 CROSSCUT SAW. Henry Disston. No. 14. One of only two known examples. 26" blade with good nib, 22 ppi. Blade is die-stamped Henry Disston (no sons) No. 14 with three eagles. Lamb's-tongue handle is walnut with cone-style nuts, no medallion, and elaborate wheatsheaf on both sides. The only apology is a screw repairing a split in the lamb's-tongue part of the handle, well done and if you didn't know better you'd say it was part of the original design. A copy of an article by noted saw fanatic Mike Stemple describing Dave's finding of the saw in a flea market (and Mike's futile attempt to buy it from him) is included. From the collection of David Jeffers. Good+ 1000-2000
