B65-540 BLOCK PLANE. Birdsill Holly. Super rare example of Holly's early "shoebuckle" lever cap design that influenced the Stanley 110. See PTAMPIA I, page 39. Instead of a screw to hold the lever cap, it has the cast brass wedge as shown in Holly's 1852 patent. Turned maple knob with one tight check, Butcher cutter. One of the nicest examples we've seen.
