B65-529 INFILL MITER PLANE. New York Maker. Not marked, but probably made by one of the small group of European immigrants who worked in New York in the late 1880s and made infill planes, primarily for the pianomaking industry. Steve thinks it was by Buck. It has a solid cast steel body rather than a dovetailed sole, which was an American innovation. 8" sole, mahogany infill and wedge, 1-3/4" Cam & Brown iron. From the collection of Steve Dice. Fine 500-1000
