B65-113 FOUR CUTTER MOLDING PLANE. Bead, quirk ovolo, and scotia, 2" overall. 10-1/4" sole with closed tote and apprentice hole. Body is cormier, with beech tote. Part of the right cheek is dovetailed to the main body. Behind the toe is a round mark with a rooster surrounded by "A la Petite France Depose", with the name P. Charpin underneath. An area of Strassburg, France, near the border with Germany is broadly referred to as ?la Petite France? or Little France, and the term "Depose" usually refers to a grant of exclusive rights. A beautifully made plane in near mint condition, noting a couple of small wormholes. From the collection of Steve Dice. Fine 600-900
