B64-746. DRAFTING TOOL Kimber Cleaver Protractor. Brass, 6" square, with an inner divided circle with fine vernier adjustment and four spring-loaded marking pins. Cleaver was a preeminent mining engineer in the Pennsylvania coal region who is credited with a number of inventions and innovations, but apparently held no patents. There are a number of variations on his protractor, some of which will be included in future auctions. This one, like most, was made by the Philadelphia firm of Wm. J. Young.
