The side of the handle, which at first glance just looks like it's cracked, actually swivels out to lock the blade in place. It seems impossible to believe that Bailey never patented it, but we're not aware of any other examples. 8" blade and a 4-1/2" cast iron body with a japanned recess, moderate wear but no damage.
