B64-724. GOLDBEATER'S TOOL. Goldbeaters were artisans who prepared and attached gold leaf. This is a "waggon", used to trim the edges of the gold leaf after it has been beaten into a thin sheet. Boxwood, 6" long, with two cane rails. The lot includes a page from an old encyclopedia that describes the process and illustrates various other tools. Condition: Fine, Estimate: 100-200
