B64-717. SURVEYOR'S CROSS STAFF. Used primarily in Europe and sometimes called a French staff. Hollow octagonal brass body; you mount it on a Jacob's staff and sight through the slits in the body. Unsigned, solid brass, 2-1/2" in diameter and 5" long with mount. Comes in a beautifully turned boxwood box with screw lid. Condition: Fine, Estimate: 150-250
