B64-571. ELECTRIC LIGHTED LEVEL. Federal Level Co. Federal Level of Chicago produced a whole series of lighted levels at the beginning of the twentieth century based on Daniel Frank's 1912 patent. This is the deluxe version, 28", cherry, with four separate bulbs, one in each of three portholes (level, plumb, and adjustable inclinometer) and one in the top vial, each with its own mother-of-pearl button. The top level vial and its bulb are missing - originally we thought it was damaged, but it may have been deliberate so that the user could sight through the hole to view the center-mounted level vial, because it also includes a circular level which we haven't previously seen. Otherwise complete with all bulbs, vials and magnifying porthole covers, pop-up sights, decent wood with some minor dings. Remnants of paper label. Condition: Good+, Estimate: 200-300
