B63-575. CAST IRON LEVEL. Webb Patent. 18" level based on Edward Webb's 1886 patent with three vials housed in a central container, manufactured by Fitchburg Level Co. One of the most graphic of the cast-iron levels. The short versions are very uncommon, but the 18" version is genuinely rare. Unmarked as most examples are, all vials original and wet, japanning complete and clear milling marks on top and bottom rails, one tiny chip from edge of bottom. Clean example of a rare level.
