Original correspondence between Thomas Sands of Nashua, NH, and the US Patent Office regarding the several patents he received for ice cream freezer. Includes pages from a history of Nashua describing Mr. Sands, who was the founder of the White Mountain Freezer Company in 1872. Also includes a small hand-cranked freezer, 6" high, which could be either a model or, since it has ?White Mountain Junior" cast into it, could be the company's smallest model. The freezer is in rough shape, with the wood worn and iron rusty, but looks complete, and the correspondence helps tell the story of a forgotten Nashuan who was a pioneer of ice cream freezers.
