B-168. DECORATIVE SCREW ARM PLOW PLANE. Ohio Tool Co. No one knows exactly why nineteenth century planemakers and carpenters selected the plow plane to lavish their decorative talents on, but this is a supreme example. Although unmarked, it clearly began as a solid rosewood, ivory tipped OTC plow which was decorated with ivory inlays, including stars, hearts, and a crescent moon. It led a hard life, and when found was pretty beat up, but there was enough left for master craftsman Bob Baker to restore it to its former glory.
