B-506 BLOCK PLANE. Stanley No. 16. Very rare, possibly unique, example of the elusive Type 8a, which included the first lateral added to the Nos. 16 and 17. Made for only six months in 1888. The lateral lever is bent up at the end to fit within the slot of the cutter, original with J mark. Nickel plating on the lever cap is about 80%.
