Low angle mitre plane by Joseph Popping, one of the rare US makers of infills, who were clustered in New York in the late 1800s. 7-1/4" cast steel body, rosewood infill and pad screwed to 1-1/2" Buck Bros. cutter stamped on top by Popping. Cutter and nosepiece have assembly number. Virtually identical to the plane shown in Plate 30a of PTAMPIA II. Near mint.
